Interests are generally located near the bottom of the resume, certainly well below the fold. By the time a recruiter gets that far, they are likely already interested, so it is unlikely to hurt, and may help if the recruiter shares similar interests, regardless of relevancy.

And, as with your musical example, interests which may seem completely irrelevant to a job applicant may be seen as positive indicators to an experienced recruiter.
